This painting is part of Anaick’s “Bird Project.” 5% of this sale will be given to the Yanomami Foundation. They work closely with the Yanomami people, who are the largest relatively isolated tribe in South America.
Why:
Anaick loves painting on salvaged wood that she collects from waste. Drawn to wood for its texture, weight and sound, she loves its rawness. Her paintings are also driven by a deep concern for the environment and small communities. Themes of ecological and social issues appear not only in the subject matter but also in her material choices — reclaiming what would otherwise be discarded.
With this in mind, she decided to start her project “The Bird Project,” where a percentage of sales from selected prints and paintings is donated to a foundation supporting environmental and community protection.
The Yanomami Foundation works closely with the Yanomami people, helping to support Indigenous science, education, and environmental protection in Yanomami territory.
