Notes on the Artwork: 'The Canopy' comes from 'The Golden Days' Series; which looks at nature in its most beautiful form. The works use specialist printing methods to create metallic, gold-toned images that allow the natural world to quite literally shine.
The body of work examines the beauty of the earth; of plant life, and of plants’ never-ending battle to survive. ‘The Golden Days’ speaks to moments we feel we have lost: rose-tinted nostalgia, memories of abundance, and a world that continues to persevere despite our destruction. This work is a celebration of the natural world. It draws from scenes of overwhelming beauty, jungles and forests where plants thrive and grow into space unapologetically. There is something almost sacred in this abundance.
