Notes on the Artwork: The painting uses a combination of warm and cool colours to capture the interplay of light and shadow as the evening sun sets. Viewed from within the shadows cast by two trees in the foreground, the vibrant hues of sunlight contrast with the deep, long purple shadows stretching across the ground.
