Notes on the Artwork: 'Taken on expired 35mm film from 2006, this picture is all about the texture and those gorgeous, unexpected colour shifts that happen with expired film and an analogue camera. I spotted this lone, vibrant hibiscus blooming against a really dense, dark hedge at dusk and thought the contrast of the colours would make a beautiful image.
The light, film and camera turned the greenery into a deep, moody backdrop, allowing that pop of pink to take centre stage. The heavy grain gives the whole piece a painterly, dreamlike quality.'
