This piece is inspired by the wide range of experiences that women go through in relation to fertility and motherhood. Sometimes it can feel like we can't give voice to our experiences, but what if we can hold space for one another's journeys and acknowledge that they are all valid. The image represents that support we can give one another through openness and compassion.
Daisies, perhaps unsurprisingly, are associated with childhood, playfulness, and innocence. Here they are held lovingly close to the heart, never to be lost, and ever loved. Whilst daisies in fact will close their flowers in darkness (in order to protect themselves and retain moisture), the daisies in this piece remain open and care-free to a night sky filled with stars.
