Notes on the Artwork: This piece, 'Equidistant Pleasantries' is from my rain collection which features usually lone women enveloped and separated by their umbrellas. This painting depicts the barrier to deeper communication between women, where time restriction (juggling work and family) leaves only space for fleeting exchanges and pleasantries. Here, the two are restricted by the umbrellas, only able get as close as the umbrellas allow, only able exchange so much.
