Notes on the Artwork: 'I wanted to include a larger than life cat in this work and for the child to be in the background, overshadowed by the cat. At the time I was exploring the relationships between children and animals, and more often, lions appeared as a symbol of threat, but also protection. I wanted to make the lion less threading, so it became a ginger cat.' See more from Zena here
