Notes on the Artwork: This piece was created using two old film photographs I discovered in my grandmother’s cupboard, carefully cropped and combined to form a tangled portrayal of my family. The merging of these images reflects both connection and disorientation, echoing my grandmother’s own experience with dementia as she attempts to reconstruct her memories through unexpected and disjointed associations.
It is a portrait of fading connection, where moments and relationships blur and intersect, yet where love endures, even as identity grows uncertain.
