The Circle is part of a series of works, "Light After Death" (2019-2024), which illuminates the relationships between art and science, imperfection and geometry, life and death.
A deer skull is completed by two interlocked neon loops giving the illusion of horns. The rounded shapes have no beginning or end, referencing the eternal circle of life which we are all part of. Pairing an irregular skull with a graceful geometric shape, once again, makes us reflect on what is eternal and temporary, theoretical and practical, dead and alive. These timeless boundaries are blurred and fused in one sculpture, evoking the powerful symbolism of the circle of life in a harmonious balance.
