Notes on the Artwork: 'Case Study House is named after The Case Study House Program, initiated by Arts & Architecture Magazine in 1945 in Los Angeles, which remains one of America's most significant contributions to architecture during the mid-century.
Inspired by the experimental design and modern prototypes of the time, I wanted to play on the relationship between architect and builder, and how this dialogue often falls short and gets lost in translation . This piece brings one of my favourite locations, the Barbican conservatory, and shoe horns it into a predefined cutout with unmatched proportions.
I have a great love for architecture and nature, and the relationship between our manmade and the natural world. As a semi abstract, mixed media collage artist, working directly with photography, painting and printmaking, I try to manipulate abstracted worlds in which to escape."
