Collection: Marie Lenclos

After I graduated from my MA at the Royal College of Art in 2001, I was a freelance documentary maker. I made short documentaries that were socially oriented and mostly based in London. That’s where I trained my eye to look at the urban landscape and to see how light affects even the most mundane of scenes. What I love the most is accidentally noticing beautiful proportions on a building or the life in a brick wall. My proudest moment was realising other people connected with my paintings in ways I could never have guessed or dared imagining.

I only seriously started painting after I turned 40 years old and got my driving licence at
45 years old. So there’s hope for you all :)
