Elizabeth Loveday

I am an artist and mother from Cornwall, part of a lineage of creative craftswomen who use unexpected materials, storytelling and humour to explore the absurdities of life. Working across textiles and painting, I combine hand-dyed fabrics, layering, drawing and hand stitching to create narrative and decorative works.
Rooted in Cornish folklore, personal experience and the world around me, my work explores the complexities of being human. Through characters and stories, I reflect on identity, community and our relationship with place, weaving together the personal and collective with tenderness, playfulness and a touch of the macabre.
I Sing in a folk choir and can only perform in bare feet... no idea why..
