Collection: Anne Levine

Melancholic AF

Anne Levine’s oil paintings bring out that rare feeling of joyful melancholy, or melancholic joy. They remind us of the moments when we were alone, even lonely, but aware of it, of the fact that the only constant thing in life is change. The moments that these figurative paintings have captured are spiritual; in them, we see not only through the eyes of the artist but from within us, from our memory, we are alone, but focused, can see truly and clearly, which connects us to ourselves. It’s like meditation. We are changed, we are ready, we move on.
Anne works with multiple layers of transparent oil paint , or sometimes in acrylic for a real pop feel.

Fun fact: At 16 I accidentally spent the summer at Meryl Streep's house.
