The Living Room at Art Friend Gallery
This autumn, Art Friend Gallery is packing up its art and moving into Columbia Road for a month-long residency and we can’t wait to show you what we have in store for you. From 23rd October – 23rd November we’ll be at 128 Columbia Road, E2 7RG, right in the heart of East London.

We’re starting things off with Pause, a solo show from Marie Lenclos, and then it’s time to get a little louder with The Living Room a group exhibition that runs from 4th – 23rd November.
So, what’s The Living Room? Think less “white cube” and more “eccentric aunt’s sitting room.” We’re talking living room inspired cosiness, walls covered in joyful and uplifting artworks, and the whole space dressed with gorgeous furniture from our friends at Nook. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to curl up with a cup of tea (or a glass of wine) while discovering something new on every wall.

And the artworks themselves? Expect a little bit of everything - mischievous animals, cowboys with martinis, soulful figures with impossibly long fingers, tabletops loaded with colour and character, and even David Hockney’s iconic swimming pool reimagined in plywood. We’re welcoming back some familiar favourites and introducing new names too: from sell-out artist Studio IMO, who draws on her British Nigerian heritage, to Mathilda Mai, with her countryside palette, and Andria Beighton, who’s shipping over nostalgic 70s florals all the way from Australia.
It’s going to be an eclectic, joyful, and inviting mix, with plenty of affordable artworks ready to brighten your home this winter.

Key dates:
- Opening Night: Thursday 6th November, 5–8pm
- Usual Hours: Tues 1 - 6pm, Wed – Sat, 9am – 6pm; Sun, 8am – 6pm (extra hours available on request)
So, ditch the grey skies, pop in, and make yourself at home in The Living Room.
